چکیده

This paper studies deterministic movement over toroidal grids, integrating local information, bounded memory and choice at individual nodes. The research is motivated by recent work on deterministic random walks, and applications in multi-agent systems. Several results regarding passing tokens through toroidal grids are discussed, as well as some open questions.

The Cover Time of Deterministic Random Walks for General Transition Probabilities

Abstract. The deterministic random walk is a deterministic process analogous to a random walk. While there are some results on the cover time of the rotor-router model, which is a deterministic random walk corresponding to a simple random walk, nothing is known about the cover time of deterministic random walks emulating general transition probabilities. This paper is concerned with the SRT-rou...

Multi-choice stochastic bi-level programming problem in cooperative nature via fuzzy programming approach

In this paper, a Multi-Choice Stochastic Bi-Level Programming Problem (MCSBLPP) is considered where all the parameters of constraints are followed by normal distribution. The cost coefficients of the objective functions are multi-choice types. At first, all the probabilistic constraints are transformed into deterministic constraints using stochastic programming approach. Further, a general tran...

Rotor-Router Aggregation on the Layered Square Lattice

In rotor-router aggregation on the square lattice Z2, particles starting at the origin perform deterministic analogues of random walks until reaching an unoccupied site. The limiting shape of the cluster of occupied sites is a disk. We consider a small change to the routing mechanism for sites on the xand y-axes, resulting in a limiting shape which is a diamond instead of a disk. We show that f...

Total Variation Discrepancy of Deterministic Random Walks for Ergodic Markov Chains

Motivated by a derandomization of Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), this paper investigates deterministic random walks, which is a deterministic process analogous to a random walk. While there are several progresses on the analysis of the vertex-wise discrepancy (i.e., L∞ discrepancy), little is known about the total variation discrepancy (i.e., L1 discrepancy), which plays a significant role in...

Coalgebraic Walks, in Quantum and Turing Computation

The paper investigates non-deterministic, probabilistic and quantum walks, from the perspective of coalgebras and monads. Nondeterministic and probabilistic walks are coalgebras of a monad (powerset and distribution), in an obvious manner. It is shown that also quantum walks are coalgebras of a new monad, involving additional control structure. This new monad is also used to describe Turing mac...
